White polyester halyard with 1/16in wire core.  Cut to length.  Double the height of the pole to allow for knots and tying down to the cleat.

Wire core halyard pairs well with lockable cleat cover boxes to deter the casual vandal.  5/16in size for standard poles to 40ft in height.  3/8in size common for poles 50ft and taller.
